Buffalo ghee Faqs
Anveshan Desi Buffalo Ghee is made from the milk of heritage Surti and Jaffarabadi buffaloes slow-churned the traditional bilona way. This unhurried process preserves the ghee's nutrients aroma and daanedaar ure making it far more authentic than mass-produced ghee.
Our buffalo ghee is naturally white dense and smooth owing to the high-fat milk of heritage buffalo breeds from Gujarat. Like all pure ghee it softens at room temperature and firms up in winter which is completely normal.
Iodine (Tincture Iodine) Test Take a small quantity of melted ghee in a clean transparent container and add a few drops of tincture iodine. Mix gently and observe for a colour change. A blue blue-black or violet colour may indicate the presence of starch-based adulterants. However this is only a preliminary screening test and cannot confirm overall ghee purity. For definitive results laboratory testing is required.
Our ghee is churned from cultured curd instead of cream (malai) using milk from heritage Jaffarabadi and Surti buffaloes reared by Gujarat's Maldhari community. This yields a ghee that's richer creamier and more aromatic than most in the market. It has long been valued in Ayurveda as a source of daily nourishment.
Raised by the Maldhari community of Gujarat our buffaloes graze freely and are vet-verified for health and care. We keep a cruelty-free environment and never use hormones.
No. We believe in sustainable packaging so our ghee comes in eco-friendly glass jars and reusable stainless-steel dolchis.
